A Little Bit More…

What?

Kinfolk Families is a non profit artist led organisation supporting research, production and sharing of work relating to matrescence, radical care and expanded notions of family.

Our focus is on adults - too often ‘family-friendly’ in used in lieu of ‘child-centred’. We ask, what does good programming & access for adults who are also parents or caregivers look like?

How?

We use an action-research methodology, believing that by doing we are also learning. We continue to work as artists, investing time into our personal practices as well as into participatory and community engaged arts delivery.

We provide mentoring to artists and arts workers who are parents or caregivers or who make work aligned with those themes. We provide consultation to arts and culture organisations who want to improve their accessibility and inclusion for parents and caregivers.

This offering helps to financially support our community work and to continually develop our understanding of the vast experiences of our wider community of artists.
